Oman Opens Doors to Registrations Under com.om or co.om

The Sultanate of Oman is now accepting new registrations under .com.om or .co.om. Registrations will be made on a first come first served basis but are subject to local presence requirements. One interesting point to note is that all domain name registrations must warrant that the use or registration of the domain name by Applicant does not interfere with or infringe upon the right of any third party in any jurisdiction with respect to trademark, service mark, trade-name, company name or any other intellectual property right. That the applicant certifies that, to the best of the Applicant’s knowledge the domain name is not being registered for any activities not permitted under the Sultanate of Oman. Finally, the Applicant is also required to agree not to register domain names for the purpose of selling them later to other entities.
